Champion foal with a cheeky character

Horse's name: Vive le JW
Gender: Mare
Date of birth: 26 May 2021
Sire: Opium JW van de Moerhoeve
Dam: Rebellin JW van ‘t Verahof
Dam's sire: Taran de la Pomme
Vive le JW is the champion of the fillies at the National Foal Inspections for Eventing in Belgium! The jury were full of praise for her appearance: a very beautifully put-together foal that thanks to her pedigree, looks more like a modern showjumper than an eventing horse but due to her completeness, rose above the rest. Strong and very correctly built with a really good trot that mixes power with litheness. Her somewhat cheeky character makes her a winner now, and hopefully in the future too.
What lovely words for this stylish foal, daughter of Opium JW van de Moerhoeve, the hugely promising son of Kannan that is internationally ranked at 1.40m, aged only seven and ridden by Willem Greve. It is indeed showjumping at the highest level that can be seen in both the sire and the dam names. Take for instance Nabab de Reve x Chin Chin x Guidam de Revel or dam's dam VDL Groep Eureka, ranked at 1.60m with Maikel van der Vleuten.
We see that international orientation also in dam's sire Taran de la Pomme, ridden by Kevin Staut at 1.60m. Taran de la Pomme is a son of Chin Chin son Tolano van 't Riethof out of the famous Ta Belle van Sombeke, a Chin Chin daughter that competed at 1.60m ridden by Jos Lansink.
And then the dam's line. The first thing you notice is world-famous Southern Queen, prominent in that wonderful Van 't Verahof line. Dam's dam Macharelli van 't Verahof competes internationally. She is a full sister of top sporting horses Fletcha van 't Verahof, Leipheimer van ‘t Verahof and Mallori van ‘t Verahof and half-sister of a whole series of international showjumping and eventing horses.
Vive le JW: the ideal opportunity in sport and breeding for eventing. Ideal for an eventing rider because there is an excellent chance of an outstanding eventing horse. And for breeding because Vive le JW can also be the basis for further expansion in the direction of showjumping!
