Olivianne was the clear champion at the National Foal Inspections for Eventing. She is a very beautiful and appealing foal and immediately attracts the attention when she appears in the ring. A foal that demonstrates her thoroughbred pedigree and is clearly going to be a very beautiful horse.   The jury at the National Foal Inspections had no difficulty in naming this foal champion and in the auction too, we are happy to be able to offer Olivianne. The remarks by jury members Merel Blom and Jan Oortveld left no-one in any doubt: a very free and bright foal with a very good canter in which the foal covers a lot of ground and displays great stretch.

Gemini XX, the foal's sire, is a clone of Gem Twist. Gem Twist was a legend in his lifetime. He had an unsurpassed capacity for jumping. He jumped at the very highest level, with various riders, and was praised for his wonderful character and commitment. Up until now, Gem Twist is the only horse to have won ‘American GP Association Horse of the Year’ three times. In 1987, Gem Twist won silver at the Pan Am Games, and a year later, this thoroughbred won two silver medals at the Olympic Games in Seoul. At the first World Equestrian Games in 1990, Gem Twist was crowned best horse in the World Championship.
Multiple descendants of Gemini XX have already been approved by the BWP.
Dam Elianne is a descendant of Zapatero VDL. And Zapatero VDL is a descendant of Chin Chin x Ircolando x Notaris x Joost. Zapatero's descendants always attract attention at competitions. They all show good reflexes, technique, commitment and capacity and the first descendants jump at Grand Prix level.  His daughters are quickly declared to be 'star' and 'crown'. Zapatero VDL himself performs at 1.60 metres at international Grand Prix level.
Elianne herself has not been entered in the sport. She did take the KWPN (EPTM) mare test at three years old and passed. This illustrates her talent for jumping, with good, functional basic gaits (an 8 for walk, a 7 for trot and an 8 for canter). After passing her EPTM, she was entered in the KWPN studbook and given the STAR predicate.
Elianne's first descendant, Olivianne's half-sister, is a descendant of Etoulon VDL and now, six years old, jumps at 1.20 metres level in Sweden.
Elianne's dam, Sanne K, is a descendant of Great Pleasure x G. Ramiro Z. As you can see, the dam line of Olivianne consists of big names in show jumping. Elianne's dam's dam (La Bamba B) produced at least two descendants which jumped at 1.30 metres and one descendant classified Z2 dressage. The dam of La Bamba B (Notha A, KWPN star predicate) produced one show jumper at 1.35 and another at 1.30 metres level and a dressage horse classified ZZ complex. The descendants from this mare line perform well in both dressage and jumping.
The combination of Gem Twist with dam Elianne results in Olivianne being more than 68% thoroughbred. And that, added to her genes on the dam's side, makes her interesting for eventing, both for sport and breeding. Olivianne shows great class and dam Elianne produces horses with good height. The expectation is that Olivianne will grow into a large-sized riding horse.
